The Summer 2023 issue of The Avalanche Journal is now available free, online, through our complete Journal Archives. This issue looks at intersectional heuristics in backcountry travel, the importance of safe work practices, how forecasters assess avalanche problems, and attempts at setting up a heli-ski operation in far eastern China. The centrepiece of the issue looks at a massive avalanche near Revelstoke and asks the question: “Was it a Size 5?”
