This issue looks at intersectional heuristics in backcountry travel, the importance of safe work practices, how forecasters assess avalanche problems, and attempts at setting up a heli-ski operation in far eastern China. The centrepiece of the issue looks at a massive avalanche near Revelstoke and asks the question: “Was it a Size 5?”
